Me and Cohen

Mom took a few pictures of Cohen and I today. I thought I'd share a few of my favorites.

"What's so funny, Cohen?"

We cooperated for one for Mom.

My Two Teeth

I know I told you about my two little bottom teeth but I finally let Mom get a picture of them today.

Nap Time?

Last night Mom put me to bed around 9:00 p.m. .like they always do. I didn't nap like I usually do yesterday. I napped some but not as much as I normally do. Well, around 11:30 p.m. I woke up crying. Daddy got up with me and tried soothing me back to sleep. It wasn't working so he asked Mommy what she thought. She said to feed me. He tried but I wasn't hungry. He brought me in their room and asked Mommy what the heck he was supposed to do with "this?" Mommy opened her eyes and there I was. Bright eyes, wide awake, big smiles and looking all around the room.

I thought it was just a nap, but I guess it was bed time. I stayed awake hanging out with Dad until about 1:00 a.m. before I was ready to go back to bed. I have never done that before and they said they'd be happy if I never did it again. :)

Outside Time

I got to be outside and watch Cohen and his friends play this weekend. It was really nice and warm out. I loved sitting outside in my stroller, swinging in my swing and playing in my exersaucer. I was dreaming of being bigger when I can try and keep up to those big kids. :)

A New Way to Take a Bath

Now that I'm getting to be a big girl and sitting up I was able to try out my big girl bath seat. Before I was using the tub I had to lay back in but now I can sit up in this. I was a little unsure at first but I got used it, did alright and all was well.

Happy Birthday, Big Brother

My brother, Cohen turned five on Friday and yesterday we had his birthday party at our house. He had his friends and our family here to celebrate with him.

Friday, the day of his actual birthday, we gave him his gifts. I got him a stuffed kitty and a car he wanted.

Friday night our family of four took him out to dinner at Red Robin. He got to pick where we went and it was my first time there. It was a fun time and I think he had a great birthday.

Happy Birthday to the best brother ever. I love you, Cohen!

Full of Tricks

I have been mastering sitting up and today when Daddy put me down for a nap he was watching me on the monitor and I went from laying on my belly to sitting straight up in my crib, all on my own. I can't wait to see what else I can get figured out. I seem to do my best tricks when I'm alone in my crib. It's where I perfect everything. :)

Sitting Up

I'm getting to be such a big girl, I can sit up all by myself. I still over occasionally but I do pretty well and am starting to catch my balance if I start to tip.

Six Months Old Today

I turned six months old on Wednesday - that means I'm celebrated my HALF Birthday!

Some highlights of the past month are getting my first vacation, my first tooth, working on sitting up, trying some butternut squash and celebrating my first Easter.

I weigh 13 lbs 13 oz. (9th percentile) and am 25 1/2 inches long (31st percentile). My head is 42 cm (41st percentile).

I had to get two shots and one oral vaccine. I cried but not for too long.

I have been eating around 5-6 ounces every 3-4 hours. In the morning I eat about 7 ounces and before bed I eat between 6-7 ounces.

I normally go to bed around 9:00 p.m. Most nights I sleep until about 7:00 a.m. Some nights I wake around 2:30. If I wake at that time it's usually because I've rolled onto my back and even though I can roll back to my belly I don't. I want Mom or Dad to come in and roll me over. Sometimes I wake around 5:30 and sometimes I wake at both 2:30 and 5:30. When I wake at 5:30 it's because I'm hungry but I always go right back to bed after that.

I'll nap 45 min to an hour then be awake for a couple hours. That cycle repeats all day with the exception of my longer 2 hour nap in the afternoon.

I started eating baby food when I turned six months old. Mommy makes my food herself and the first one I tried was butternut squash. I really like it. I can't wait to see what the next food is she lets me try.

Mom and Dad have been practicing sitting up with me. I'm getting better. I can now sit up for short periods of time all by myself. It will be no time before I'm a pro. :)

I do a lot of 'talking' still. I started doing a fake cough which Mommy and Daddy think is funny and I think it's funny when they do it back at me.

It's been a fun month and we're all looking forward to the next one - and warmer weather!!

Here are some of my six month pictures from Roni at Demasque!

First Thunder Storm

I experienced my first thunder storm last night and unlike my brother - I did not sleep through it. It woke me up but I guess it woke Mom up too because she was already up when I woke up. She told me there was dime sized hail and it was hitting our windows so hard.

Luckily it didn't last long. I had a bottle and by that time it was done and I could get back to sleep.

Nap Time

Mom and Dad were thinking I must have had a really good nap the other day. By the mark my little hand left on my cheek they could tell I hadn't moved for awhile. :)

My New Swing

For Easter Mommy and Daddy got me a new swing for outside. I got to try it out today for the first time. I really liked it! I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun in it this summer.

A Tooth!

Well, you can't really see it yet but Mommy and Daddy can feel it. The first little sharp edges of my first tooth  have made their way though my gums on Friday, 4/5....just shy of 6 months old.

Mommy thinks it won't be long before the one next to it pops through. I haven't been fussy or cranky about it - they haven't really bothered me. I have been chewing on toys but I always chew on toys.

Should be interesting once my teeth are really through and can be seen. I'm getting to be such a big girl already!

My First Easter

I celebrated my very first Easter. It was fun! The Easter Bunny brought me some fun things he left in my Easter Basket and I went to my very first Easter Egg Hunt.

Thursday I watched Cohen, Mommy and our friends, Eric and Wendy color Easter Eggs. Maybe next year I can do one myself.

Friday after Daddy got home we headed to Granny's house so we could all go to the Easter Egg Hunt the next day. I didn't hunt eggs myself this year but Cohen hunted some for me. He got to find 12 for each of us. I did get to pick a prize though when my name was drawn. I got some Easter stickers.

Daddy, Cohen and I at my first Easter Egg Hunt.

After the Egg Hunt we went to Grandpa and Grandma C.'s house to visit and play.

After spending some time with Grandpa and Grandma we headed back to Granny's house to spend a little more time with her and pick up Mars before we had to head home.

Sunday morning when I woke up I found out the Easter Bunny had left me some things in my Easter Basket. My Easter Basket itself is special because my Grandpa Cota made it a long time ago. Cohen's basket was Mommy's when she was a little girl. Mine was Great Grandma Jones'. She gave it to Mommy so I would have a the same kind of basket Cohen had - and I love that Grandpa made them.

My basket had some Minnie Mouse socks, Bunny and Chick finger puppets, a Bunny puppet book,
some yogurt melts, puffs and baby food for when I'm a little bit older.

Checking out my Easter Basket.

This is Mommy reading my Bunny puppet book to me.

After we got through our Easter Baskets we got ready and went to Waterloo to another Easter Egg hunt with Uncle Dolly, Kari and Reese at the Country Club. After the egg hunt we all had Easter brunch at the Country Club. I mean I only had a bottle, but everyone else had brunch and it looked really yummy.

After brunch we went to Grandpa and Grandma D.'s house to play and visit them. I had fun playing with my cousin, Reese and Uncle Dolly.

Reese was a little concerned about the bubbles coming out of my mouth.

She was making me smile!

I had a great first Easter. My family made it extra special for me!

My Very First Vacation

My first vacation was a big one! March 16 - 23 Mom, Dad, Cohen and I went to California with Peggy and Mitch R., Rachel, Ashley, Matt, Kaylee and Ryland R. Grandma D. started out the trip with us but wasn't able to finish it with us due to getting ill on our flight out there. It was a bummer but we're glad she's feeling better now.

Sunday we all spent the day relaxing at the house we rented. I even enjoyed hanging out the by the pool for awhile. I never did get in it though. Mommy was hoping I'd have a chance to check it out but we never go that done.

Sunday evening we went to Corona del Mar beach. I got to put my little toes in the Pacific Ocean. It was Daddy, Cohen and my first time seeing the ocean. Mommy had been to the Pacific Ocean before.

Monday was our first day heading to Disneyland. Cohen was very excited to see Cars Land so that's where we went first. He really loves Cars and he really, really, really liked Cars Land. I was happy just watching all the people from my stroller or from the carrier. We had a pretty full day there - spending almost all of our time in Cars Land. It was a good day made even better by Grandma getting out of the hospital and Grandpa D. and Donna K. flying in.

Tuesday Grandma was doing better so Donna K. offered to keep me at the house with them so I got to spend the day with her, Grandpa and Grandma. I loved being able to nap in my bed, play with my toys and just hang out with them. Mom, Dad and Cohen got an early start at Disney that morning, took an afternoon break to come back, rest and hang out with me for awhile before they headed back to Disneyland that night. Again, I got to hang out at the house with everyone. Mom and Dad were appreciative of Donna doing that for them and for me. I was more comfortable and Cohen got to spend some time with just him, Mom and Dad.

Wednesday everyone took a break from Disneyland and we headed to Sea World in San Diego. Grandpa, Grandma and Donna hit the road for their long drive home. Sea World was neat. We got to see a dolphin show, Shamu show, some penguins and a polar bear. It was so much fun it wore me right out.

Thursday it was back to Disneyland. We started out at Disneyland park on this day since we hadn't been to that park yet - we had only been to California Adventure. I had a Snow White dress that a friend of Mommy's gave to me to wear. We saw Snow White right when we walked in but she was just finishing a meet and greet and we never saw her again so I didn't get to take my picture with her. I also had a Minnie Mouse dress. Mom was hoping to get my picture taken with Minnie Mouse but that didn't work out either. The line was too long and I was a little cranky at that point. She did take a picture of Minnie Mouse's house for me though and I finally did take a nap.

After spending part of our day in Disneyland park we headed back over to California Adventure for Cohen to see Cars Land one last time and to say "good bye".

Friday Mom, Cohen and I just hung out at the rental house while everyone else headed to Hollywood to Universal Studios. It was nice just relaxing at the house for the day again.

Saturday we had to get up really early, like 4:00 a.m. to leave for the airport. I did great on the plane on the way home too. I won't remember my very first plane ride, or my very first vacation but I have a lot of pictures to look at when I'm older.
