15 Months Old

I just turned 15 months old and thought I've give an update on what I'm up to.

Well, as I said I'm walking all over now. I don't crawl much at all anymore. I can stand up on my own and if I'm moving I'm walking. I have it figured out that I need to walk slower on the hard floors at home than I do on the carpet too.

I am still a great sleeper. Usually in bed between 7:30-8:00 and night and wake between 7:30-8:30 in the morning.

For breakfast I usually have a banana and either peanut butter toast or an egg. I recently starting getting a small bowl of cereal and I am a big fan of that. Mom gives me a spoon but I'm not very good at using it yet so I use my fingers and she also helps me a bit with the spoon.

Naps vary - some days I take two names, one in the morning and one in the afternoon but there are those days where I just take one. I'm usually not as happy in the evenings on those one nap days and bed time comes a bit earlier.

Trying to think of some of my new words I've added since I last posted...well here's a full list of my words.
Previous List
Dog, Blythe, eat, eyes, woof, up, please (peas), bye-bye, nana, cheese, cracker, snow, tree, Santa, baby, pinky, hop, Minnie, yes, no, go ride, pictee (picture), who's this, book, monkey, bath, blue, green, pants, toothpaste, diaper, shoes, socks, hi

Added Words
drink, down, Marlie, castle, no-no, Hulk, Spidey, wash, cheese, pants, nose, eyes, ears, dance

When I'm asked a question I almost always give an answer. It's either, "nooooo" or a full body nod "yes". It might not always be a truthful answer but Mom and Dad think both are pretty funny.

I'm a pretty emotional girl. Mom and Dad say I'm fragile. I can turn my lip upside down and wail just by being told "no." I still like to be held, a lot! I prefer it be by Daddy but Mom will do. :)

I am a very happy little lady though. I like to be silly and giggle and laugh. I like to be tickled while I lay on my back. I am really starting to like playing with Cohen more and more and I think he is with me as well. He'll 'chase' me around the living room and kitchen, hide and when I come he lets out a little yell, then I do, we laugh and the game goes on and on. It makes Mom smile inside and out when we play together and enjoy each other. I really look up to my big brother and am interested in everything he does. He doesn't always want me to be around but he tolerates me pretty well.

I LOVE and I mean LOVE to dance. Any music or singing I've got my body bopping or my hips swaying saying, "dance. dance."

I like to be by Mom or Dad, the times I play by myself are minimal. Some days I will do this more than others. I like to see what they're up to if they're in the kitchen and if they're in the living room I want to be on the couch with them or have them on the floor with me. If I am playing by myself once I see or hear them it's over.

I enjoy playing with my baby dolls. I like to wrap my "pinky" taggie around them, hold them up by my shoulder, pat their back and say, "nice". I also like to play with my princess castle Santa brought and really love to look at books, as well as be read to. Books hold my interest by far the longest of anything.

I'm sure the next few months will have a lot of new tricks in store for me to learn. Can't wait to see what they are.

A Favorite Pics

I was so excited to be on the couch with some of my "gang".

I'm not sure what the big deal is here.
I love to open the drawers in the kitchen and take stuff out.
This particular day I decided to count the straws.

There's no denying I'm a daddy's girl. I love for Daddy to hold. me.
I always and asking, "Up peas" and he usually obliges.
This particular day I was giving my baby snuggles while
Daddy gave his baby some snuggles too.

Everything Christmas - Start to Finish

Gosh, I can't believe I haven't shared anything about my Christmas! I have been keeping to busy that I haven't updated in awhile.

Well, I'll start with the Santa party we went to at my Aunt and Uncle's house. They invited Santa over to their house and he even brought us each a gift. I wasn't too sure about Santa at all. I got nervous and then cried and cried. Daddy saved me from Santa. I was excited about the awesome Minnie Mouse toy he brought me though.

Daaaaad!!!

 All of us with Santa!

Me opening my Minnie gift.

Christmas Even we spent the day at home as a family. Mom and Cohen made a Ginger Bread house. Maybe next year I'll be big enough to help. We watched Christmas movies and just enjoyed being together. Mom and Dad let Cohen and I each open one gift from them that day - to break it up a bit and let us have more time to enjoy our gifts. I got a new chair with my name on it. Cohen got a Lego set.

Me in my chair I got on Christmas Eve from Mom and Dad.

Christmas morning Cohen woke up before me. Mom and Dad let him open his gifts before I got up. They said it was ok because I needed to rest, he shouldn't have to wait and that way they could really enjoy watching each of us open our gifts separately. It worked out well I guess.

Me and the Princess Castle Santa brought me.
I love it - it plays music and I dance to it.

Me and my talking and singing Puppy Santa brought.

Santa brought us all new stockings this year - even Marlie!

Mom did some holiday baking and I got to be a taste tester.
I liked it!
I loved wearing this reindeer antlers.
I would bring them to Mom or Dad and basically ask them to put them on me.

Aren't I so cute in these antlers?

On Christmas Day - after we opened gifts, had breakfast and some time to play we packed up to head to Harpers to celebrate with our family there. After we got on the road Mom and Dad decided to turn around because the roads were very snowy, traffic was moving very slow and it was starting to sleet. We went back home and spent the rest of our day at home relaxing and playing with our new toys. The next morning after breakfast we headed out again.

We visited our Great Grandpa and Grandma Cota and Jones, Grandpa Cota and Granny. Both Cohen and I were very lucky kids and got some very nice gifts. Some of the gifts I got included shoes, clothes, sleep sacks, books, some that play music, toys...it was a very good Christmas. I even started to get in the hang of opening the gifts toward the end. :)

After a few days in Harpers we headed back home. We had a day at home and then went to Waterloo to celebrate with Daddy's side of the family. We went to Uncle Dolly and Kari's house. We both got spoiled there too! I got a bunch of stuffed animals, Mickey, Minnie, Daisey, Donald and Goofy, books, a dolly, baby bed, doll baby diaper bag - it was a great time with our family.

Mom and Dad got Cohen and I each an ornament this year - like they do every year. Mom forgot to take pictures though, I think. I got a Minnie Mouse ornament and Cohen got an Iron Man ornament. :)

One exciting thing for me over the Christmas holiday was that though I had been walking a little bit before that I really got a lot better, faster at walking and was starting to stand up on my own without having to hold onto anything. I'm really cruising around now!
